Shikaras are a sort of wooden boat. Shikaras come in a variety of sizes and are used for a variety of reasons, including transportation. A typical shikara seats six passengers, with the driver paddling behind.
Some shikaras are still used for fishing, gathering aquatic vegetation (typically for feed), and transportation, although the majority are utilised by tourists. Some are utilised as floating residences.
Boating! That will be the highlight of your journey to Naukuchiatal. Enjoy wonderful views while sitting in a colourful shikara surrounded by tall mountains. Of course, the boat journey takes centre stage, but there are plenty of other activities to do while you're here, like kayaking, angling, swimming, and horseback riding. Go hand-gliding with the Himalayan Adventure Institute to experience a bird's-eye view of the lake and the surrounding area.
